Full of Noxious Illness

I seem to have come down with a particularly unattractive head cold so I have been hiding under the covers and reading truly ghastly fiction in my bed.  Both of the cats are fighting to sit on my head so it is at least it has been a pretty good day for them.  Hopefully I will have something interesting to say tomorrow.

Ghastly fiction?

Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well.

I hope...

-that you are doing much better now.
-that your cats keep having fun with your head.

I am curious about what ghastly fiction you are reading.
Get well soon!

Minneapolis has had the same head cold go around three times now, a horrible little bit of germiness with surprising staying power. I've had it twice, both times taking a full week! Complete BS.

Lots of sleep, that's what you need.

Oh I'll be joining you in germ misery soon I'm sure. I don't know how I've avoided it for this long. Feel better and enjoy the horrible fiction!

Best thing for a head cold I know:

4 cups chix broth

1/2 onion diced

10 cloves of garlic.

Simmer chix broth and add garlic and onion.

Drink all day. Kills all the bugs that ail you!

Feel better sweet thing!

Whisky, and lots of it,with honey and lemon.

TSB might have something there. And yeah, what are you reading? I know what I read when I'm sick: really bad page-turners, the titles of which I forget immediately.
Glad you have your kitties to fuss over you.

I'm experiencing the same thing (minus the cats).

My husband always recommended a hot toddy for a cold. It is a few ounces of bourban with some sugar mixed in. Here's how it works: The patient slams down the toddy and immediately climbs under the covers to sleep and recover. Really. And he was an MD!

PS - May repeat every 6 hours.

Hope you feel better soon. Looks like the cats are taking care of your head at least.

I have no idea what that means.

I suppose if the cats were more ambitious, they'd pose for photographs so you could post them on the blog.

"truly ghastly fiction" -- oh no, you need something better than that! You must get well! Feel better soon. ;)

meg, thanks.

jolene, the cats are happy to have me home. I am still struggling a bit.

pc, truly one of the worst books ever written. A travesty called Digital Fortress by a man of extraordinary limited talents named Dan Brown.

pearl, that is good advice. Has it been very cold in Minnesota this year?

mrs tuna, I appreciate your thoughtfulness.

karen, it does seem to be hard to avoid it.

nsss, what is chix?

tsb, I have some rye for such emergencies. Good suggestion.

kerry, see my answer above to PC. The cats are very comforting.

dbs, cats are crucial for recovery. I hope you feel better.

cj, I guess anything which causes nap time would be helpful. Thanks for the suggestion.

ac, I appreciate the sentiment.

kanani, the cats have an amazing ability turn their heads at just the right moment to spoil a good photo.

jayne, it really was extraordinarily wretched.

Oh no! Get well soon! It isn't a very nice cold this year it seems. I'm sure the kitties were happy though.

Mlc, the cats were happy that I stayed home, and making them happy is my life goal.

i've had a cold for the last 9 days, but it is finally starting to dissipate. i'm not sick enough to stay home, just sick enough to feel irritated.

Laoch of Chicago said...

manders, that can really drag you down. Get more sleep if you can and I hope you feel better soon.

I'm hoping you're feeling much, much better by now and also I'm wondering ... how was your dinner with Satan?

Laoch of Chicago said...

molly,my cold has moved to my chest so I am feeling kind of bad. Satan is a witty dinner companion but perhaps a bit untrustworthy.

Molly said...

yeah, so I've heard ...
sorry you're not well - look after yourself!

Laoch of Chicago said...

molly, thanks for looking in on me. Unfortunately looking after myself is hard because I am a handful.
